Regular dental check-ups allows your dentist to assess your teeth, gums and oral health to check for any problems. Regular checks helps to keep your mouth healthy and catching any problems early when they are easier to treat.

How often should I get a dental check-up?

It is recommended to visit the dentist every 6 to 9 months. It is highly recommended to not leave it for longer than 2 years.

Dental anxiety

Feeling anxiety over going to the dentist is common and can affect people of any age. There are ways it can be managed, and it’s important to let the dentist know if you experience any level of anxiety. 

  • deep breathing
  • distraction (such as listening to music or the use of devices)
    guided imagery
  • progressive muscle relaxation
  • agreeing with your dentist on a signal to stop during the treatment for a break (such as raising hand)
